Have driven my van through several winters in Minnesota and Wisconsin. A little seam rust but no real problem. Have had a problem with short trips in the cold. The oil dilutes with gas really quickly. Sometimes in just a tank or two if you only drive 1-2 miles at a time. Just change the oil very frequently or park the van. Of course I was only using a tank of gas every month and a half or so. Synthetic lube in the trans will help lots come 30 below weather. Do you have a BA-6? Not much heat from the regular heater at below zero. Buy some warm clothes! St. Cloud is down south from here but a very nice place for most folks. Near Lake Woe Be Gone also.
