<!doctype html public "-//w3c//dtd html 4.0 transitional//en"> <html> Yes, I have a 91 syncro westy and if you search the archives (either mstebbins@hotmail.com or malcolm.stebbins@msvu.ca) you'll find my story. I thought that I had a Weber carb but somebody misspelled weber as SOLEX. It's a 2 barrel, progressive with an Bosch 009 dist, with centrifugal spark advance and points/condenser with a K&N filter. I get plenty of power and about the same mileage as FI folks with syncro westies. I'm happy with carbs as it is now a "one wire engine". I am about to add the pertronix elect ignition. <A HREF="http://www.pertronix.com/">http://www.pertronix.com/</A> . MOre info if you need it. Malcolm <p>Any one out there run carbs on their vanagon instead of FI? I am running dual 34 Webers on a newly rebuilt engine, and they lack power. As anyone ran anything else?
