I have spent the last 3 months looking to purchase a 7 passenger Synchro without much luck. I got in contact with 3 different people, received pics via email, and then got ready to head out to look and hopefully purchase one. Each time I was beaten to the punch and each one was sold before I even had a chance to look at them in person. Well, on Friday I was checking the surf at lunch. On my way back to work, I saw another vanagon for sale (just what I need!). I glanced over and it was a Synchro!! I quickly eased in behind him and followed. He turned down a few familiar streets and then pulls into a garage. I get out and it turns out to be my high school swim coach, woohoo. I talk to him for a few minutes and found out he's the original owner and traded in his 70 westy to get, even at the very same Dealer that I work at! He says that he and his wife are doing a lot of driving and camping (albeit poptop trailer camping) and his wife likes automatics, so an AWD Safari is on order. Good things come to those who wait?
