Charles "Luke" Lukey Seattle, WA

Hey guys, I don't know if this is the best place to ask this but I will try anyway. I found a 90 Westy GL with alloys and the full pacckage with 84,000 miles on it. They are firm at $9200. The only thing that worries me is it has not had anything done to it except oil changes and tune ups. No brakes, no clutch, no shocks and whatever else starts to go wrong. I am torn between going for the lower miles and doing the repairs or finding one with higher miles that has had all of that done all ready. The van is in decent shape. It has some small seam rust on one rear wheel arch, some scratches on one side and has had a bra on the front since it was new. This of course has worn the paint way down on the edges of the nose. It is a striking vehicle with a very clean interior. Any thoughts on this? I am going to Seattle this weekend to look at a couple up there and I hope this one is available still when I get back. There is a multi van with 46,000 miles on it I am hoping to look at. If I am not mistaken this rig has the pop top but no cooking setup, instead utilizing that space for more seating. thanks in advance for any insight, Craig the Gorge VW club
