Subject: Westfalia leveling while camping - solution
Content-Type: text/plain; charset=us-ascii

While my wife and I camp with our 2 small boys, sometimes we find ourselves split up with the myself in the top and her in the bottom each with a kid.

Well after awhile of this, she was getting "seasick" whenever I would move around in the top. Bill from VW Bus Heaven, passed this tip and gave me a deal on the solution.

Solution:

Park the passenger side rear wheel on the highest point on the campsite.

Get three (3) stock vanagon jacks and install them in the stock jackpoints in all but the passenger rear wheel. If you put one here you will not be able to open the slider.

I bought myself a small carpenters leveler at a $1 store and set it on top of the stove and adjust the height as needed.

While being able to provide a near perfectly level sleeping surface, it also keeps the van from a rockin'!!

Plus having the extra jacks also helps in rotating tires every 5k miles.
