I left my '87 vanagon idleing for about 45 minutes, (very talkative customer). After I drove off it started hesitating and lower speeds. It seems to get better and worse at times. Today as I got off the freeway, (4000 RPM's for about 35 minutes were no help cleaning off the plugs), the problem reoccured as I drove away from the freeway at a slower speed. I took out the spark plugs and they were all burned, gray ashy. I wanted to replace them, (Bosch) but all my local auto parts store had in stock were autolite platinum. The van seems to accelerate a bit better but the hesitation is worse than ever! HELP!!!!
