Terry, beleive it or not, I spent 30 years in Alaska. I know about cold. But
I wonder about the road conditions, and worry about salt eating my van.  As
for the cold, We do everything to our vehicles in Alaska to handle the
weather, but I have heard some real tales of cold in Minnesota - especially
when you get one of those Great Northern Cold Fronts that blow down out of
central Canada.

As for why to Minnesota.....1) Job, 2)just never been there, would like to
see it, be part of it for a while.3) Ely and Boundaries Wilderness Area is
just to the north.
