Also, if my memory serves me right, it is not always easy to pop the piston out of the slave cylinder. In the Land of Slush (i.e., the Northeast), these things see some severe conditions and the crud/rust that builds up on them, especially if they have been leaking brake fluid, can prevent the piston from coming out.

As usual, you either spend the $$$ or the time.
