I too have rebuilt many a slave and master cylinder in my youth. I quit years ago because they never lasted more that a few months or few thousand miles. The bore is very precise, and usually by the time the seals leak the piston has distorted the bore enough to make rebuilds short-lived, and if you hone the scoring/pitting out it usually gets too big. I don't bother with this any more. These components are usually not that expensive, and in the case where they are I send them out to be re-sleeved by White Post Restorations. That is the only way to get a rebuild to last.

Start saving your pennies now for the new one, and the master too!
