After many rounds of installing CVs I have an almost perfect routine - first - spray down the bolts with WD40 and use a small dental pick to remove the dirt from inside of the heads. Then spray them down with brake cleaner (advoid the rubber boots) - after that I insert my KD tools 8mm tripple square on the A series or my 8mm allen on the T series VW and use a hammer and give it a really sharp smack. Then I *tighten* them slightly then loosen them off - works 95% of the time. If I strip the head I find vise grips will sometimes work or cut them off with a dremel tool.
