Thanks all for your response to my query about my clutch problem. After further inspection I noted that I did indeed have a small leak from the clutch slave. I originally thought that this was a leak from the trans axle and I was scheduling to fix it later this winter. I noticed that the small spot on my garage floor was water soluable. Gear oil is not, but brake fluid is--wal-laa.

Anyway, in looking for a replacement unit I found some interesting price comparisions to replace the slave unit. So interesting that I also wanted to compare other unit pricing:

Autozone VanAgain BusDepot Clutch Slave $26 $50 $50 Clutch Master $80 $40 $40 P. Steering pump $130+core $199+core $249+core

Interesting huh! I appreciate the job both Vanagain & Bus Depot are doing for us but Autozone also has never caused me a problem. None of the above parts are instock in their stores but are two day special orders. All include a lifetime warrantee. I take full advantage of this. I purchase my CV joint half shafts from them. ($88 I think) Yea, they're factory rebuilds but I just run them until they wear out (usually around 50,000 miles) and then just replace them on the warrantee. This is usually more than the maintenence manual specs for relubing them anyway.
