Engine with new AMC heads, 1.25 ratio rockers, 3-angle valve grind, new pistons/cylinders, new oil pump, new lifters, and machined/rebuilt rods, crank (polished), cam and flywheel was $2500. Installation cost my a day of DIYing it. Be prepared to spend about 10-20% more for all the broken/worn out stuff you will want to replace when the engine is out. I.e., water pump, thermostat, clutch, exhaust, hoses, etc. -- Stuart MacMillan Seattle '84 Vanagon Westfalia w/2.1 '65 MGB (Driven since 1969) '74 MGB GT (Restoring) Assisting on Restoration: '72 MGB GT (Daughter's) '64 MGB (Son's) Parts cars: '68 & '73 MGB, '67 MGB GT |
