Always look first to see if it's plugged in, that is, see if you are getting power at the connector in the pantry. Actually, check at the fuse box at bottom of driver's door pillar first, it's easier to get to. Remember that the 12v only works when the engine is actually running...if yours is one of those where the alternator light stays on until you rev it a bit, you can listen for the relay under your seat to close at the same time that the light goes off.
