Hi All

For some strange reason there is a chronic shortage of oversize main bearings in South Africa for the 2.1 crank. I have been running around frantically this week trying to track down these bearings. Eventually I managed to find a set with standard ID and oversize OD, which is great because the block will have to be line-bored after they fix up the thrust washer area. I have decided to merely polish the journals on the crank because they are still within spec, just *very slightly* oval from normal wear & tear. I have also come across 3 guys who gave me horrible stories of rod-throwing engines (-gulp-). I'll have to recheck those rod nuts and bolts and replace if possible (I seem to remember that the bolt is part of the rod? - must check).

Heads are being slaughtered at the engineers: there are many more cracks between the inlet and outlet valves than could be seen at first glance, but hopefully they'll be done next week.

We have a public holiday Monday, so I'm off to ensure a long weekend.

Ta Ta
