Jerry, I am a Canadian that sells Double & Single-Cab Vanagon Transporters across the border in to the US of A. To import a Vanagon in to the US from Canada you need to do three things.(1) Change the park brake warning light lens to a US one (2) Change the speedometer to a US one. (3) Get the "letter of compliance from VW of N.A.

With these three things done you can then import the Vanagon in to the US of A. You will then have to pay your applicable taxes and duty to US customs people. As for the "Title" unless you are buying the vehicle in the Province of Nova Scotia there is no such thing. We do not title our automobiles. Your local Motor Vehicles branch should be able to check this fact in there reference books. Or you can get the phone number or a letter from the Canadian Motor Vehicles branch in the province where you are purchasing the vehicle.

I hope this information helps.

Cheers Glen

Could anyone who's done this or has knowledge as to what is required to do this please p-mail me? Is there a difference as to whether or not I drive it across the Border, or trailer it? Thanks... > > Jerry > > _____________________________________________________ > The freedom to choose your own Internet access price. > Surfree.com - got to be free > http://www.surfree.com
