From a three-way perspective; 1)As a young Navy officer with a brand new MGB, I took the "let me fly through the air" attitude until I had to go to a crash scene and ID one of my 18 year old crewmen plastered around a palm tree because he didn't have on his seat belt...( his jeep continued on fairly unscathed into some brush). 2) Later in life, I am now a firefighter/paramedic. At least weekly we see the aftermath of truely unforeseeable happenstances/accidents...quadrapelgia means no "real" life for you or the survivors you leave in your wake...and flying through the air generally ends with an abrupt, devastating stop. 3) On July fourth '96 I was driving my wife , mother and dog home from our getaway, country place when a drunk rounded a corner, heading directly for us; I swerved in reaction and if I weren't seat belted I would have been thrown into my wife's lap and wrecked the car. As it turned out, I managed to miss the blunt head-on and the drunk side swiped us ... my seat belt saved me, two other loved ones and possibly the idiot drunk too.

Free will is our own as long as we are prepared to protect others freely and willfully.
