1986 Volkswagen Vanagon 2.1 L

Trans: Automatic Mileage: 96,992 miles VIN: WV2YBO253GHO98718

Affected Item: collection bottle Condition: air / steam bubbles

____________________________________________________________

This Van is bubbling out the circulation tank when it gets hot. It will after a while cause some coolant to flow/overflow the recovery bottle and on to the ground.

We have bled out the system as described in the manuel and as advised in the tech. tips forum. This will cause the van to behave untill the fan cycles and the bubbles will begin. It must be steam or trapped air as it is free of hydrocarbons in the cooling system. This thing is driving us nuts and we dont know which way to go with it. Has anyone elce seen this or have any ideas? I have'nt found anything in the archives. Have repaired lots of these vans but this is a first!
