Hi Mathew

My 1984 Westy's E-brake adjustment required a lot of turns to get it to bite, I estimate 20 full turns or so. There is a lot of threading to the adjustment bolt, so I assume it is normal that it it would develop a lot of slack from wear to pads and cable stretch.

I'd just bring up any slack in the cable and back it off a little if necessary. Rusty threads may mimick thightness, so take that into consideration when making the adjustments.

Hope this helps

JGS
