Budd, I just spoke to my local VW dealer Service Manager about the AC tunnel recall, but he didn't know what I was talking about. Said he had never even heard of it, much less know anything about what was involved. He was somewhat incredulous that there would be a current fix on a vehicle 12 years old. I gave him the recall number from your post below, and he is going to look into it Monday.

So, what all went into your repair. The ends of my tunnel peices have been damaged pretty badly from the fall. Looks like the PO tried to fix it himself once or twice and wasn't successful. PO managed to get it to stay put until I bought it and then it fell on me. I was roaring up Interstate 65 through Birmingham, AL during rush hour when it fell. Scared hell out of me when it hit the floor.
