I am almost reluctant to send this given the debate auxiliary battery installations seem to cause, but I am going to take the plunge and do the install so I need help from you Volks. Plus its Friday so why not mix things up a bit! I think eventually I want to do the full on install the likes of what Bill, Tom, and Harald have described but for the short term I think I might just go with the fridge relay or Hella kit solutions. Here are my questions: 1) I am sold on the Optima Deep Cycle Battery, but they have a few models, most are the same dimensions. Which specific model should I buy? 2) Did we ever determine if there was any advantage to the Hella kit over the fridge relay modification on www.vanagon.com? 3) I want to be able to start from the auxiliary. To do this with the fridge relay I have to jump to the starter battery, do I have to do this with the Hella Kit?
