Here is some gas heater trivia for you who are already thinking about heat. I apologize for boring the tropical half of the list. The BA-6 heater found in busses and Vanagons (1975-later) has a heat output on high from 20,000 to 23,000 BTU's.(5100-5900 kcal per hour)

The average fuel consumption on maximum heat setting is 1.1-1.3 liters per hour (2.3-2.7 US pints per hour) slightly under a quart and a half per hour on full. Fuel consumption on medium temp setting is about 1 pint (about 236 cc) per hour.

Running the heater on the highest setting in subfreezing temperatures while wearing your favorite Hawaiian shirt can use 10 gallons (37.85 liters) per hour.

On medium setting, you are now using only half the above consumption rate and you can use that parka, gloves and cap you paid so much for! My 2 cents worth (1.5 cents CAD)

Robert
