Someone said: >VW Vanagon engineers haven't a clue what real winter is like.< >Interesting... they have pretty cold winters in Germany, don't they?< And I say: I've lived in Germany and it will never get as cold as it does here in Winnipeg, not until the next ice age. I think our average winter temperature is colder than Moscow, Helsinki, Oslo or any European location. But is autumn now and gorgeous with leaves changing colours.... and really it isn't that bad here, we just get a few days each winter to remind us that rubber freezes at -40, (F or C, they're the same at that temp) leaving radial tires with a flat spot. Imagine car seats as hard as church pews and radio knobs that turn only with force. We like to play up the extremes. At least we're not in the real north where they endure these conditions more often and for longer. -- B Hydesmith/83 Westfalia/Winnipeg/MB/Canada/hsc@mac.com _____________________________________________ |
