Don; I do not consider replacing a head seal major job. The hardest part, IMHO, is getting the rusted exaust fasteners off. Anyone know of a source for stainless steel metric hardware? If you have good compression I would go for a gasket set. This would prepare you, experience wise, for whatever is down the road. Hopefully not for a couple of years. I would first take the rocker arms off on that side and inspect the ends of the exhaust valves. Mine were starting to mushroom after 200k miles. If so have a couple new ones handy. I replaced #3 & #4's exaust valves (due to low compresion) in one weekend.
