I have the same model as you. Sorry - but the air from my front blower is 'blowing a gale' on High speed.

Sounds like you have a blockage or restriction somewhere.

The discussion about heat (and lack thereof) reminds me to ask if anyone gets any air volume out of the front heater blower. Mine (83.5, water-cooled) switches on and off fine and makes a lot of noise, but blows precious little air. Is this "just the way it is," or is there perhaps something blocking the ducts? I am comparing the feeble VW flow with the blasts I feel in new cars I rent pretty regularly for work.
