Subject: Auxilliary waterpump for vanagon?
Content-Type: text/plain; format=flowed

Hello Volks

I found an interesting item in the VW part listings for an 87 vanagon. Illustration 150-50 shows an additional water pump! I called a dealer and found that the water pump along with the rubber mounting and relay shown in the illustration are still available. The water pump part number is 034 965 561C. The cost for the pump, relay and rubber mount came to $155.

Is this water pump meant to improve coolant circulation when the van is idling? Improve cooling in the summer?? Improve heating in the winter???

Does anyone know where this pump would be mounted? I assume the relay has a spot in the fusepanel with the other relays.
