Removing the (what was once) chrome window trim and carefully >pyring the seal away, or is that gonna leave me with a broken window?

I removed windshields and rear windows from Fiat 125s and 850 Sports by removing the push-in strips from the rubbers, then kicking the glass out from inside, starting at one end and working my way to the other end. The glass comes out with the rubber. I didn't use any lubricants. With care this method is unlikely to break the very strong glass. Just don't use hard-soled shoes...
