Subject: need help: Wolfsburg panel w/ table into GL van
Content-Type: text/plain; charset="US-ASCII"

Hi All,

This topic has been mentioned at one time or another. However, I don't recall anyone coming up with an exact answer.

I bought a side panel w/ the pop-out table from an 86 Westy Weekender. Unfortunately, I did not get the sofabed seat with it. I am now trying to install this piece into my regular plain vanilla van but have run into clearance problems. The side panels stick out of the wall further than the existing seats brackets can accommodate. The seat is too w-i-d-e. I can skip installing the passenger side panel for the additional clearance but need the side with the table.

Has anyone ever modified these seats to fit in this manner? Has anyone cut the panel so that the seat hardware can work? If so, where do you cut? The cushions look like there is enough give so I'm not worried about that. It's just all that damn hardware on the bottom that's getting in the way. Any suggestions? Please don't say go out and get a Westy seat.

Thanks, BenT San Francisco
