howdy 83.5 westy, panel removed on sliding door my sliding door opens only when I reach in and pull a spring-held lever by hand, at which time the door opens normally. It seems as though the Bowden cable could pull more and solve this problem. In Bentley 58.7, there is a photo and "instructions" for adjusting the Bowden cable. My van does not match the photo 58-203, and I don't have an "actuating lever", nor can I understand the directions in those two paragraphs. I am happy I can open the door "manually", but would like to go back to the old fashioned door handle. If you have experience with this problem, does adjusting the Bowden cable seem like the solution, or is there something more I should do to the "rear sliding-door lock" - lubrication, etc? Bentley is a bit cryptic in this area, can't find any mice to give me clues. Also, anyone have a sliding door panel for a 83.5 westy yellow/tan/off-white... Thanks, aaron in eau claire, wi 83.5 westy "spokey" Aaron Ellringer dba Spokes spokes@attglobal.net |
