Moms and Dads, Boys and girls. Here is the bad news. Air shocks, from Gabriel, will not fit a 2wd Vanagon, regardless of the year of manufacture. The darn things are too big in diameter, and after contacting Gabriel, the report is grim. They only make one diameter shock, which will not fit, from the position, it mounts, at and the inner wheel well panel. I just can't believe that the shock that allegedly will fit the syncro, won't fit the 2wd Van. The shock mounts that fit the syncro, would have to be at least 1.5 inches, farther away from the inner wheel well panel than the 2wd, and I don't think this is so. Anyway, all is not lost. I'm thinking about an "Air Lift" setup, to supplement the rear suspension, which would offer an another adjustable option. I'm on It !!! Later, Terry |
