<< I am spending a lot of time drooling over the Reimo 2000 catalogue but the coolest item so far is this Four Bicycle Carrier VW T2 Trotter on page 167 (item number 44000). Steve how much? Anyone else carried 4 bikes on a Vanagon?

Thanks, Chris Gronski Toronto, Ontario, >>

Chris, I had the Trotter rack on my EuroVan for about 2 years and loved it. I only had it setup to hold 2 bikes. I now offer the Fiamma racks, which hold up to 3 bikes, (4 for the EuroVan) or the Paulchen rack, which will hold 3 as well.

Trotter will hold up to 4, and as long as you do not exceed 50kg, you should be fine. The reason that Paulchen and Fiamma only hold 3, is that they do not want to exceed the weight that your rear hatch can safely handle.

The Trotter rack is $235.00 setup to hold 2 bikes. Add $35.00 for the extension, $50 for 2 additional rails, and you would also want the bike clamps. #3 is included, so I suggest you order 1,2 and 4. Or, consider just ordering the Fiamma bike blocks that are beefier than the Trotter clamps. The Fiamma clamps are on my website.

The Trotter rack complete to hold 4 bikes would run you about $380 plus shipping.
