NASA insulation out of the JC Whitney Catalogue is what others with Air-Cooled engines have used with good results. Its what I will use when I get around to that part of my restoration of my 1980 Westy.

I dont believe a replacement is avail. and if your engine compartment is sealed properly then the heat it reflects should be swept away like the insulation you talk about.
