I just don't understand, after the water manifold was replaced, when the mechanic was filling the van back up with water he said that the expansion tank would also have to be replaced. Why? how could it get a hole or what ever? it doesn't touch the engine or any thing. I am trying to find out if I am going to need (and what) other parts.

I've heard so much about the heads. I hope I don't need that done. Wouldn't that have shown up when he was fixing the van?

If I do need heads or a head gasket, on the average what does it cost to I am sure it's over $15,00

Should I take to the V.W. dealer for this work?

Help,

Chris
