Lifetime warranties are for suckers lost in a Fool's Paradise.  For example,
we could supply toilet paper to China from the lifetime warranty certificates
handed out by the rustproofing shops who disappeared once they had filled
their coffers.  The vendors handing out "lifetime" warranties have compiled
accurate mortality tables and they bank on the fact that you will not own the
car in 2 years.  So, you get a product that has a half-life of 1 year.

The best shops I have found are in the second or third generation of
ownership by the same family.  They seldom advertise, they take more time to
do the job then planned and they invariably charge much more.  A warranty
from them is superfluous because they do the job right.
