I have not purchased any thing from P.P. before but I can tell you that the
1.9TD is a respecable engine.  It isn't going to set any acceleration or
speed records over a 2.0L otto engine but they do have more power at the
lower RPMs which is what the Vanagon needs - considering that oil futures
is a $37 USD a barrel - I am seriously considering a 1.9TD or TDI.
