hello folks. I am suffering from low compression. I have 150 in #1, 74 in #2, 130 in #3, and 60 in #4. I will be pulling my engine in a few days so I was wondering if anyone has any advice for a novice vw owner. I just recently pulled my engine and got as far as yanking the cylinders off of the pistons. I didn't see any signs of wear with the rings, pistons, or cylinders, or anything else for that matter. I bled the hydraulic lifters, put new seals on, and I reseated #3 exhaust valve because that was the only cylinder that had a low compression. I read to do that in the idiot's guide. The compression readings were always fairly far apart. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank You, Steve 80 vanagon |
