TIA Phil, The Optima will not fit in the battery box with lid closed without lying it on it's side... that's why the side posts are so helpful to a clean installation... If your Exide is larger and does not have side posts you may have a hard time with the install... Might want to reconsider the Optima before you cut those top posts on the Exide :) Bill |
