I just received my Michelin MXT 205/70R14 R tires from Tirerack, total was slightly under $400 with shipping. They said they had a few in stock, didn't say how many. Some observations; They have the same tread pattern as my old MX4 Rainforce 205/70R14 tires. They has what seems like a softer rubber compound, the treadwear on the MX4s is 420 while the MXT is 280. The sidewall while reinforced on the MXT is a two ply rayon while the MX4 is also a two ply rayon. The load rating on the MXTs in 99 (about 1700 lbs) and the MX4 is 95 (about 1500 lbs). One strange difference is that the MX4 is an all-season radial while the MXT is not. This seems strange as the rubber compound on the MXT is softer. Both tires were made in the UK. I have not mounted them yet, I'll get to that after work today.
