Alan; Here is a digifant cause and effect I noticed while trying to trouble shoot a problem. FWIW the problem disappeared so I have not been able to verify this.

Symptom: After about five minutes from cold start my truck would die.No bucking or warning associated, just dead. Let it sit for ten minutes it would start right up and be fine until next cold start cycle.

What I was trying to accomplish: After much T/Sing I was convinced the Hall effect sensor was failing. I removed the distributor cap and grounded the center coil wire (highly recommended for safety). I had a voltmeter at the output and was watching when the hall unit should be activated as I turned the crankshafts.

What I noticed: It appeared like every time the aperture rotor passed through the Hall generator the fuel pump ran for a second and the injectors fired. Check it out.

The problem never came back after this, it had occurred on the previous ten consecutive drives. I must have seated a bad connection at the Hall sensor when I was probing it.
