Subject: BAY AREA TAILGATE PARTY TOMORROW!
Content-Type: text/plain; charset="iso-8859-1"

Ladies & Gentlemen, Boys & Girls-- Tomorrow's the day! %%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%% I am happy to report that I picked up my van from the shop yesterday & will, goddess permitting, be rolling in around noon. I had planned to be at the party site early to greet everyone, but as I am still 'shaking down my van after extensive work, I thought it wise--& fun! to caravan tomorrow from Mendocino with list luminary Ron Bloomquist & another Vanagon.

Remember to bring paper towels, paper plates, & other necessary implements for the consuming of what I hope will be a righteous feast. I wish it were possible for all the wonderful list members I've gotten to know on this whacky list to attend, but some are too far away--i.e. Joel Walker, Mick on the Big Island of Hawaii, & others too numerous to mention. We will surely remember all of you absent listees with at least one rousing toast! Looking forward to seeing all of you tomorrow! Ciao, Phaedra

FIRST ANNUAL San Francisco Bay Area Van-a-goon Tailgate Party

Be There! SATURDAY OCT 21 11 AM to ??? On SF Bay/End of Powell Street EMERYVILLE, CA

Powell Street Exit off I-80 Just North of the East End of the Bay Bridge Head toward the bay--go to the end of Powell St-- Look for Vanagons at the bayside park--easy!

This park at end of Powell St has gorgeous views of the Bay & SF cityfront--picnic tables, restrooms, paved parking lots, & an old wood pier. If you've got a liscense, fishing is good off the pier. Unlike SF, Emeryville weather stands a good chance of being sunny & warm--but be prepared!--bring layers of clothing. .....kites!

Bring lunch & beverages. Plan on sharing something with four other people. There's a Market & Deli right on Powell St.--on the way to the park--with beer & an excellent wine selection. Don't forget dessert--good cookies, etc. %%%%
