Nolan,

I always connect mobile-phone to Mac PB/G3 PCMCIA-Slot with PCMCIA-cable (about USD$80.00 in Japan). G3 has 56.6 modem. But, I connect to the network without passing through this G3-modem. Mobile-phone does acting of the G3-modem. But, this system is a little slow. About 9600.. "Email transmit reception" doesn't have troubles at all. This system sends one pict in about 20 seconds. (120kb/JPG) If you had this system, maybe you will be able to send email from Rocky.

Hope that you understand this concept.

I don't know US's mobile-phone surroundings. Many Americans purchase that cable (Windows/PC & Mac) in Japan, and come back to the home. I think that US and Japanese mobilephone surroundings are about the same. You will probably be able to find that cable in the US, too. If you hope, I will up this systems pix to my web. Mobile-phone, PCMCIA-cable, and PB-G3..

Hope this helps.
