Actually....

with the supper tall (tallest) Thule 'feet' you can place them at the very rear of the rain gutter and just in front of the pop top and then you DON'T have to take them off to pop the top.... this works good for a canoe... but the bars are then far enough apart that probably most kayaks would be strapped at their skinny ends where most kayak saddles will not fit correctly...
