The 10/23/00 CBS Evening News ran a story about the treatment of women in Afghanistan. The broadcast used various scenes of life in today's Afghanistan and one shot in particular was of note for this group. The scene showed a loaf style VW bus with the usual 4 tire arrangement replaced with a single axle/two tires mounted midship with the bus being pulled like an Ox cart. Those who are looking for an alternate conversion, keep this in mind. Especially if gas prices continue to rise.
