Steve

Computers boot, Vanagons shake, rattle and roll! Three things are needed in the right amount and at the proper time. Compression, you have it. Fuel, you say the plugs have fuel on them enough or too much? Spark, you've got lotts of new parts. So can you see the plugs fire? If so are they going to the correct cylinders? Hint, there's a small notch/line in the distributor where the cap fits on under the plastic sheild. that notch points to the wire that goes to #1 cylinder. The firing order is, I believe, 1-4-3-2, so if #1 is correct then the next wire goes to 4 then 3 then 2. BTW, 1 is front right, 2 is right rear, 3 is front left and 4 is left rear. With the cap off, have somebody crank the engine briefly so you can see the direction of rotation and put the wires going in the correct direction. without knowing more of your past problems and what you did to fix them that's about all I can say that may help.

Good luck Joe
