Addison,

You need to cut that base plate off the donor van. Cut one side with a cutting wheel or a handheld grinder. Position it along one of the tracks and cut away like you would position a circular saw. Once one side is done, pull upwards to the other side. The welds should just pop on that side. If not you may need to do some minor cutting/grinding to help it along. I learned to do this the hard way. First time I did this, I cut both sides. It's totally unnecessary. Take care to use safety glasses. I ruined a perfectly good set of prescription eyeglasses due to sparks from the grinder. I'm just glad it wasn't my eyes. All the other pieces either bolt-on or slide off.

Once you have the bottom plate out, you just need to have it welded on top of your existing track. This will render you old tracks obsolete. However, Don't worry because the turntable has it's own set of tracks. These are very simple spot welds which any welder should be able to do for you in under 30 minutes for both sides -- assuming of course that you remove your seats first.

Any Vanagon seats can be slid on to these swivel/turntable tracks. You can even use your old seats. That will save you the trouble of matching the upholstery to your old ones. The seats are not unique. Only the tracks.

Pmail me if you need more specific instructions. Retrofitting these are definitely cheaper than fabricating seat swivels. I did not want to go too much into further detail on the list since we had rehashed this subject a more than few times.
