Seeing as I've paid off my current fleet, and I'm selling off a few Fox wagons, a Cabriolet Wolfsburg, and possibly my '72 Saab 96, I've decided to bite the bullet and go for the big gun in the wasserboxer upgrade arena. Where can I get one, and how much? How long do they take to get? Time isn't a major concern, since my van's been gathering dust up at this guy's shop, and I'm not driving it because of the blown O-ring, and I have plenty of other wheels. Cost is somewhat of a concern. I think I've heard they cost between $3000-3500. I'll go for it if necessary, but I wonder if they are available for less.

BTW, thanks to Rob for running the chip shipment, and sending back the change! Now I just need to go get my ECU. Not like the van needs it now anyway. ;)

One other thing: I know of a nice '85 GL in two-tone blue in town, clean body and interior, everything works, recent engine rebuild, owned by a VW shop owner. $2500. Dunno the guy personally, and I seldom buy parts from him, but he has a good rep locally of being a Vanagon guru. Why am I sharing this? Because it's a sweet looking and driving bus, but I already have three. ;)
