I think humanity is afraid of change as a whole. But it happens. As for the alphabet thing, I highly doubt that "The Emperor" intends to modify the order that we say them in or speak them in, only in the computers world. To be honest though, I don't see how that would change a thing as far as the coding of the Internet works.
