Subject: Ignition electrical question

Listees, When I had my dash out the other day, I discovered that the PO had rigged a wire from #15 on the ignition switch to #10 fuse, and wire nutted a little black wire from the instrument cluster to that.

It did not take long to figure out that the fuse to switch wire was to power the coil, but what about the little black wire? Does that light the battery/oil light at startup? (they are not lighting at this time)

I rewired the section professionally, but did not hook up the black wire. Any suggestions? TIA
