Subject: Keys, locks and Steve Sandlin the Locksmith Guy

Hi everyone,

I just wanted say that I used Steve Sandlin to make a couple of keys for my van using the Logo key blanks he was promoting. Steve was a great resource and an even better locksmith. He helped me remove the door handles and get the original key code from the door handle when a copy of a copy didn't work well. The whole time he just wanted to make it right for me.

I had Steve make a copy of the worn copy of the only key that came with my van. I also had replaced my sliding door handle a long time ago and had a separate key for the sliding door. I had this re-keyed to match the doors and ignition. When I got the new copies they did not work very well without tweaking the key in the hole. When I told Steve about this he was more than helpful in getting this right for me. Over the next two weeks we scanned the old key, got the Key code and then Steve cut two more copies of the key based on the source code (from inside the handle) and re-worked the sliding door handle to match.

Steve also coached me on how to clean the cylinders which had 20 years of grime built up. Now I have free turning tumblers and keys that work great. Thanks again Steve!!

I really appreciate Steve's dedication and commitment to helping get a set of workable keys. I recommned Steve Sandlin, the Lock guy.

Besides, when the new logo keys showed up, my girlfriend said WOW, those are the same keys I had on my Jetta. (1985) So if you need keys, new source keys, or reworked tumblers, Steve Sandlin is your locksmith guy on line.

Contact Steve at: ssandlin@lcc.net

For all of his efforts and work I sent Steve a Kokopelli for his garden from http://www.kokopellisgarden.com

That's all for now. Ken Wyatt 82 westy with one key for all doors and ignition. Yeeha!!
