We all drive/own vans...do you really want our opinion?  Look at the utility
and space of the Vanagon. What about heat and defroster in the Bug? How many
friends can you pile in the Bug?   What about hauling the bike around?
Watch out for pan rot in the Bug. Both should hold their value. As you
said...you really liked driving it.
