If you are going to do this I would strongly recommend finding you installation person before you buy your alarm. I picked up an Alpine alarm from on of the guys in our club. I have been searching for someone to install it for a reasonable price. At most of the shops it will cost me close to $200 to have it installed and I will have no warranty or I can buy one of their $189 Ungo alarms with free installation and have a warranty. I am going to look at installing it myself and if not I think I will just buy a new one. I can't imagine it is too difficult to install just very time consuming running all the wiring. Good luck, Craig the Gorge VW club
